Question 1

What is Rebupl and how does it work?

Accepted Answer

Rebupl is a two-sided launch ecosystem. Builders ship products into weekly drops where the community upvotes them, and verified tech creators (newsletters, X voices, DevRels) claim folios that make their audience bookable for paid coverage.

Question 2

Who is Rebupl for?

Accepted Answer

For builders shipping indie tools, MVPs, and DevTool launches — and for tech writers, newsletter authors, X voices, and DevRels who already cover them. Each has a dedicated door with its own content: /builders and /creators.

Question 3

How are upvotes counted?

Accepted Answer

Every vote is a real, countable event stored in our database — one per person. We never display projected, purchased, or placeholder numbers; what you see on the board is exactly what happened.

Question 4

What does it cost?

Accepted Answer

Launching is free — five launches a week, a permanent page, click analytics and a dofollow backlink. Premium Launch is $34.99 once: an editorial article on Rebupl, cross-posted to Medium and Substack, plus priority placement and the weekly recap. Launch Story is $99.99 once and adds a dedicated X post, LinkedIn post, newsletter mention and one community post. There is no subscription. Prices exclude applicable taxes.

Question 5

How does the monthly Top 3 work?

Accepted Answer

Every paid launch is considered for the weekly recap, and the strongest launches can be written up in the newsletter and on Medium. It is editorial, not a guaranteed placement — the work and the votes decide. A Launch Story is the dedicated version: its own long-form article on Rebupl, mirrored to Substack and Medium, plus posts on X and LinkedIn.

Question 6

Do paid placements get a dofollow backlink?

Accepted Answer

Free and editorial launches do. Paid placements — Premium Launches, Launch Stories, boosts and sponsor slots — carry a sponsored, nofollow link. Google asks paid links to be marked that way, so the paid products sell the permanent page, the distribution and the editorial work, not link equity.

Question 7

What is the launch desk?

Accepted Answer

The launch desk is the tool shelf inside the builder dashboard: a launch-post composer, a creator-outreach pack, a seven-day visibility planner and a UTM & share kit. All four are deterministic and run in your browser — no model, no queue, nothing stored. They are included for every maker. The 15 tools at /tools stay free to everyone.

Question 8

How do brand deals with creators work?

Accepted Answer

Builders browse the creator directory, open a folio, and send an inquiry with an optional brief. The brief lands in the creator's inbox — new, replied, won or lost — while the actual conversation stays on X or LinkedIn. Creators quote their own fixed rates and deliver directly; Rebupl doesn't take a cut on basic deals.

Question 9

What is a Launch Story?

Accepted Answer

A Launch Story is one launch plus the writing: a dedicated long-form article on Rebupl, mirrored to Substack and Medium, and a post on X and LinkedIn, written and published by hand within five business days. It costs $99.99 once and includes a Premium Launch.

Question 10

How do the sponsor slots work?

Accepted Answer

Each of the ten slots is a queue rather than a calendar. A slot that is free runs your placement immediately; a slot that is taken is still bookable, and yours starts the moment the placement in front of it ends — the checkout shows you the date and how many are ahead of you. The window you buy is how long you run for, not how long you wait. A queue position is held by a booking that has been paid for; a checkout you walk away from holds nothing.

Question 11

What is a verified folio?

Accepted Answer

Your folio is a single page showing who you write for, what platforms you cover, and proof of past work. Builders use it to find you, read your rates and send a brief straight to your creator inbox — it is the fastest way to make your audience bookable.

Question 12

How do brand deals work?

Accepted Answer

Builders browse the directory, open your folio, and send an inquiry with an optional brief. The brief lands in your creator inbox; you decide what to accept, quote your own rates, and deliver directly. The conversation itself stays on X or LinkedIn, and Rebupl takes 0% platform fees.

Question 13

What happens in my creator inbox?

Accepted Answer

Every query from your folio lands in one queue at /creator. A query is one row, not a chat: you see the channel, the sender and the brief, and move it through new, replied, won or lost. The actual conversation stays on X or LinkedIn, where you already work.

Question 14

Can I see how many people viewed my folio?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your folio counts views, sources and referring sites for the last 30 days. It counts visits, not visitors — no cookie, no visitor profile, and no invented reach numbers.

Question 15

Can I join if I don't have a huge audience?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Reach is one filter among many — niche and category matter as much. You connect your identity once, get a verified badge with an audit trail, and the directory shows what you actually cover.

Question 16

I write about tech and I also ship products. Do I need two accounts?

Accepted Answer

No. One account, one handle. The handle is your folio address and the signature on your launches at the same time, and you switch between the two desks whenever you like — nothing is duplicated and nothing is lost.

Question 17

What happens to my handle if I already have one elsewhere?

Accepted Answer

If it is a profile that was never signed into — a page you set up but never logged in to — you can claim it and the whole profile, its channels and its address come with you. A handle that belongs to a real account is never taken; that is somebody's address.

Question 18

What do I get on launch day?

Accepted Answer

A permanent product page with a dofollow backlink, a place in the weekly drop, real community upvotes and click analytics. Premium adds distribution, editorial work and priority placement.

Question 19

How does the weekly drop work?

Accepted Answer

Submit into an upcoming week and post on drop day. Every launch lands in the next open week; Premium and Launch Story add distribution and editorial. The community votes.

Question 20

Can I hire creators to amplify the launch?

Accepted Answer

Yes — browse verified folios, pick a channel, send a brief. Creators quote fixed rates, and Rebupl takes 0%.

Question 21

Is there a free plan?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Free gets five launches a week, a permanent page, click analytics and unlimited creator enquiries. Premium and Story add distribution and editorial work.

Question 22

What does a Premium Launch do?

Accepted Answer

One product, one payment. Get an editorial article on Rebupl covering the problem, the solution and who it is for — cross-posted to Medium and Substack — with priority placement and the weekly recap. No subscription.

Question 23

How do written campaigns work?

Accepted Answer

Send a brief from the campaign desk, choose the launch, and follow status, notes and published links in one thread. A Launch Story covers one written campaign.

Question 24

I build products and I also publish. Do I need two accounts?

Accepted Answer

No. One handle signs your launches and is your creator address. Claim it once; it cannot be changed.

Question 25

What does a sponsor slot actually buy me?

Accepted Answer

Fixed placement in the left or right rail, with a direct link and clickouts. Slots queue; the booking sheet shows the start date before you pay.

Question 26

What is a launch credit?

Accepted Answer

When you pay for a Premium Launch or a Launch Story, we record a one-time credit on your account. It is spent only when a launch is actually published: a failed publish, a closed tab or an abandoned checkout does not use it. Until then it stays available on /launch/new.

Question 27

Can I use a Premium Launch credit for a Launch Story, a boost or a sponsor slot?

Accepted Answer

No. Every product is separate. A Premium Launch credit can only be spent on a Premium Launch. It cannot be upgraded, converted, or put toward a Launch Story, a launch boost, or one of the ten sponsor slots — those each have their own checkout and their own ledger.

Question 28

I bought Premium. Can I upgrade to a Launch Story?

Accepted Answer

There is no credit-offset upgrade. If you want the Story, buy it at its normal price; your existing Premium credit stays on the account and can be used for another launch. We would rather leave the credit intact than silently swallow it.

Question 29

Why does checkout charge full price when I already have a credit?

Accepted Answer

Because credits are per product, not a cash balance. A Premium credit cannot reduce the price of a Story, boost or sponsor slot, and holding two credits does not combine them. Each checkout buys its own product.

Question 30

Do launch credits expire?

Accepted Answer

No. A paid, unspent credit does not expire and is not tied to a drop week. It waits on your account until you publish a launch that uses it.

Question 31

Can I hold more than one credit?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each purchase adds its own credit. A Launch Story also includes a Premium Launch credit, so buying one while you already hold a Premium credit leaves you with two launches' worth. Publishing spends one credit per launch.

Question 32

Does a free launch use up my paid credit?

Accepted Answer

No. Free launches never touch a paid credit. The credit is only spent when you explicitly publish with a paid product attached.

Question 33

What is a dofollow link?

Accepted Answer

A dofollow link is an ordinary link with no rel="nofollow" or rel="sponsored" attribute. Search engines are free to follow it and, if the page is trustworthy, count it as a normal editorial citation. Free launches on Rebupl carry a dofollow link from the product page.

Question 34

What is a nofollow link?

Accepted Answer

A nofollow link uses rel="nofollow" to tell search engines that the link is not an endorsement and should not pass ranking signals. The destination can still receive visitors and referral traffic; it just does not get link equity from the page.

Question 35

What does rel="sponsored" mean?

Accepted Answer

rel="sponsored" marks a link that was paid for or otherwise compensated. Google treats it as a paid link and does not count it as an editorial endorsement. It is the correct way to disclose a paid placement without hiding it from readers.

Question 36

Why are paid launches nofollow?

Accepted Answer

Google's link spam policy asks sites to mark paid or compensated links. Premium Launches, Launch Stories, boosts and sponsor slots therefore carry sponsored nofollow links. The paid products sell the permanent page, the distribution and the editorial work — not link equity.

Question 37

Which Rebupl links are dofollow?

Accepted Answer

Free, organic launches get a dofollow link on their permanent product page. Paid placements — Premium Launch, Launch Story, boosts and sponsor slots — are marked sponsored nofollow. The page itself stays public and indexable in every case.

Question 38

What is AEO?

Accepted Answer

AEO is Answer Engine Optimization: shaping a page so an answer engine can lift a direct answer from it. That means a clear question-shaped heading, a short answer near the top, supporting detail underneath, accurate structured data and clean HTML that does not depend on JavaScript.

Question 39

What is GEO?

Accepted Answer

GEO is Generative Engine Optimization: earning a place in an AI-generated answer, with a citation, rather than only a ranking in a list of blue links. It rewards specific, original, well-sourced content, clear entities, fresh dates, accessible crawling and files like llms.txt that explain the site.

Question 40

How are SEO, AEO and GEO different?

Accepted Answer

SEO competes for a ranking in a results list. AEO competes for the direct answer box or featured snippet. GEO competes to be quoted inside an AI answer. They overlap: crawlable HTML, structured data, clear headings and genuine expertise help all three.

Question 41

How do I improve agent visibility?

Accepted Answer

Lead with the answer, use one clear H1, add FAQ and Product structured data, keep robots.txt open to AI crawlers, publish an llms.txt, keep the sitemap current, avoid content that only exists after client-side JavaScript, and give every page a stable canonical URL. The free Agent Visibility Audit checks the live page, robots.txt, llms.txt and sitemap.

Question 42

What is llms.txt?

Accepted Answer

llms.txt is a plain-markdown file at the site root that describes the site and links its most useful pages, written for language models rather than browsers. Rebupl publishes /llms.txt as a summary and /llms-full.txt as the detailed reference.

Question 43

Do AI crawlers respect robots.txt?

Accepted Answer

Most major AI crawlers do. Rebupl allows GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and similar agents on public pages, while blocking private surfaces such as the dashboard, admin, account and APIs.

Question 44

What is structured data?

Accepted Answer

Structured data is machine-readable JSON-LD that names what a page contains: an Organization, Product, Article, FAQPage or BreadcrumbList. It helps search engines and answer engines understand the entity, and it is what earns many rich results. The JSON-LD Generator builds and validates it for free.

Question 45

What is a canonical URL?

Accepted Answer

A canonical URL is the one address a page asks search engines to treat as authoritative when the same content is reachable through several URLs. It prevents duplicate versions from competing and keeps ranking signals on one page.

Question 46

Does a sponsored link still help?

Accepted Answer

Not for direct link equity, and that is deliberate. A sponsored placement still brings referral traffic, brand exposure and discovery — the things the paid launch actually sells. If you want a followed editorial link, publish a free launch and earn the placement.

Question 47

How do I get cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI?

Accepted Answer

There is no guaranteed switch. The durable approach is the same as good SEO plus AEO: be crawlable, answer a specific question clearly, show real experience and dates, cite your sources, keep structured data accurate, and make the page easy to quote. Being useful and specific beats keyword stuffing.
